Love local

Share in the risks – and rewards – of herb farming.

» The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model establishes a relationship between farmers and community members.

» You, as a community member who wants to interact with fresh, local medicinal herbs commit to support local, small-scale farming by purchasing your season of herbs upfront.

» We, as your local medicinal herb farmers, commit to grow nutritious, local medicine for you all season.

» You pay upfront for a season of shares, which helps us as your farmer with the often top-heavy costs of seasonal start-up, and you join us in the risks of farming.

» It’s a partnership. It’s a relationship. It’s growing goodness, together.

» CSAs have roots in both Black and Japanese history. The CSA model we know today was inspired by Black farmer and agriculture professor Dr. Booker T. Whatley, as well as Teruo Ichiraku, Yoshinori Kaneko and a group of concerned, passionate Japanese women. A quick google search will get you more of that history!

Despite our best laid plans, life in the garden is unpredictable. We will do our utmost to grow vibrant, potent herbs for you, and also want to recognize that some herbs on our list may not be available depending on how the season plays out. For example, Fresh Herb CSA members might get half the amount (normally provided in a share) of two herbs in place of the full amount of a single herb. This is part of stepping into the risks of farming with us. Thanks for understanding.
